  • Purchasing clothing that is appropriate for specific occasions

  • Ironing, mending and storing clothes

  • Becoming familiar with cleaning products and how to measure the products accurately

  • Understanding vocabulary that is related to clothing care

  • Exploring careers that are related to the laundry industry

  • Acquiring life skills that are needed for daily living

Students at the Charles R. Drew Transition Center clean laundry used by the cafeteria staff, school nurses and  students working in the school custodial areas.  This hands-on experience also provides the students with strategies to practice good customer service throughout the school.
