Resale Shop

 

The Charles R. Drew Transition Center's Resale Shop is a student-run store that provides our young adults with work experiences.  Students are able to practice work skills that can be utilized in various employment positions.  The resale store offers training and employment skills in customer service, cashiering, organization, stock and janitorial. The Drew Resale Shop was featured on the Channel 4 News.

 

Goals & Objectives

 

• To demonstrate skills in accurately tallying customer's purchases

• To demonstrate skills in record keeping

• To perform basic cleaning within the store

• To organize and restock shelves

• To maintain the storage of merchandise

• To identify, label, and price items available for purchase

• To identify and separate items by department

• To demonstrate an overall willingness to work towards being responsible, having a strong determination to succeed and an unwavering motivation for self-improvement in preparation for transitioning to becoming independent adults
