Snack Shop
The Snack Shop is an effective educational program designed to prepare students for the transition from school to work. It offers real-life experiences, which promote job readiness skills and social skills. Students will identify career opportunities, training requirements and demonstrate duties, such as stock person, bagger, cashier, concession attendant, security, custodian and greeter.
Positions in School Store
General Manager - This student keeps store in order by ensuring that all tasks are complete, check inventory, lock doors and report any problems to the teacher.
Cashier - This student operates the register, receives money, and handles exchanges or returns.
Bagger - This student places items in bags and thanks the customer.
Stock Person - This student stocks shelves/coolers and assists with inventory.
Custodian - This student empties trash, cleans tables, sink, microwave, sweeps and tears down boxes.
Equipment Cleaner - This student cleans the nacho, popcorn or hot dog machine and ensures that aprons are kept clean.
Accountant - This student assists in collecting, counting and recording money.
Security - This student watches for shoplifters and exercises crowd control.
